Rose is to the west as the Lotus is to the east. It represents the first manifestation that rises and blossoms from within the primordial waters, like the Tripura Sundari cosmic rose of Indian culture, which refers to the beauty of the Divine Mother. It is no surprise that in Rosicrucianism the rose is represented in the center of the cross, that is, in the place of the heart of Christ. In Christian iconography, it represents the transmutation of his blood or wounds.
The mystical rose of Christianity is also a symbolism attributed to the Virgin Mary and, more specifically, in her numerous apparitions, the most notable being that of 1947 to the Italian nurse Pierina Gilli, and other apparitions with the same symbols extended until 1984.
Rose symbolism in the Morgan Greer tarot- The Queen of Swords from the Morgan- The rose, symbol of beauty and spiritual elevation.
In her first appearance, Our Lady of the Mystic Rose is seen holding three swords in her arms, and later she is represented carrying three roses on her chest, one white, one red and one golden. The white rose symbolizes openness to prayer as a form of communion with the Divine, and finding one's inner vocation. The red represents the purification of sins through the sacrifice made lovingly. And finally, the golden rose would symbolize the penance of all those who should represent Christian precepts, but who betrayed the Church, its priests and monks, and the need to correct them.
Interestingly, roses appear, with great frequency, associated with the symbolism of the suit of swords, which brings in its scope of meanings the idea of suffering, correction, the search for truth, justice and the power of reason.
The rose also appears like a wheel, due to the arrangement of its petals, which is evident in the shape of the compass rose, indicating that evolution is movement. And as in both Catholic and Muslim, and also pagan traditions, roses are associated with spilled blood, its symbolism is strongly linked to the concept of spiritual rebirth. Your image really seems to translate all of this. From a thorny and, therefore, painful stem, rises a beautiful, delicate flower with a seductive perfume. Like the soul that rises from its sufferings with the beauty of understanding, wisdom, which it exudes to all those around it, enchanting and instructing by example. A symbol of inner growth and spiritual maturity.
The Greek goddess Hecate, a goddess of the underworld and herald of the dark aspects of consciousness, was sometimes depicted wearing a garland of five-leaf roses. The number five represents the change and movement that come from four, which is the cipher of current order. This associated with Hecate's symbolism makes it clear that there is no type of rebirth or spiritual awakening without diving into one's own shadows.
Later, the rose would be associated with love, since once associated with Christ in his mission and sacrifice for the love of humanity, it began to represent the pure or ideal love that all men seek.
